Introducing Caster Girl 12

Yes, basketball shoes and Little Miss Sunshine socks are a weird combination, but oh well! It's weird like me, but athletic too. My favorite sport is basketball (of course you can tell!). I love fashion and science. You never know what I'll do next, but then again some people do…like when I burst out speaking in an English accent. Wonderful, random – like me.

CHECK IT OUT! The Beautiful Creatures Cover

We finally get a preview of what we have all been waiting for.  The cover for Beautiful Creatures, which I got from Kami's blog, is amazing!!  If you absolutely adored Twilight (which I am sure we all did!) then you will definitely enjoy this supernatural romance thriller.  Here is a little bit of what you can expect:

There were no surprises in Gatlin County.
We were pretty much the epicenter of the middle of nowhere.
At least, that's what I thought.
Turns out, I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

Lena Duchannes is unlike anyone the small Southern town of Gatlin has ever seen, and she's struggling to conceal a power, and a curse, that has haunted her family for generations. But even within the overgrown gardens, murky swamps and crumbling graveyards of the forgotten South, a secret cannot stay hidden forever.

Ethan Wate, who has been counting the months until he can escape from Gatlin, is haunted by dreams of a beautiful girl he has never met. When Lena moves into the town's oldest and most infamous plantation, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her and determined to uncover the connection between them.

IN A TOWN WITH NO SURPRISES, ONE SECRET COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING.

This book is the reason we are Caster Girls.  The story is brilliant and I am positive that anyone who picks it up will enjoy it immensely.  Trust me.  When I have I ever steered you wrong?

Hey!! I'm the newest edition to the Caster Girls, and yes people, I am the youngest. I' m hoping to bring my own personality (example: my funniness: if that's even a word). Oh, yeah, and thirteen is oddly my lucky number.

Heartbreaks

If you could see that I'm the one who understands you
Been here all along so why can't you see?
You belong with me

Standin by, waiting at your back door
All this time how could you not know that?
You belong with me
You belong with me

-Taylor Swift, You Belong With Me

Every time I listen to this song, I think about all the guys that I have liked and thought "man you and I would be perfect!  If you would just dump your girlfriend, we would be brilliant together!"  But like always, the guy never dumps his girl and I'm stuck with my "what if's."

I guess there is always a reason as to why I don't end up with the guys I like.  Maybe they are just not the right ones for me.  But there have been a couple where I thought "this can be great! Why aren't we together!?"  I always end up getting hurt when I am these situations.  I always get my hopes up and then squashed right after.  It's devastating, but at the same time it is such a great feeling to hope!  That one little inch of maybe is just enough for me to be happy, even if it is for only one beautiful second.

One day there will be that guy who will be the right one for me, but for right now I think the hope will be enough.  Even if I can't be with the guy I like, I figure it's always nice to dream and imagine myself with him. And maybe one day the guy that should belong with me will!

Scalpel, please?

I am sitting in the living room of Caster Girl 15. We are discussing dissection.

Caster Girl 15 and I have had to dissect a cow's eye and a over-ripe fetal pig.

Her mom had to dissect the eyeball of a sheep and a fetal pig.

Her dad can't remember dissecting anything which means that he hasn't (it's an experience hard to forget.)

Her sister had to dissect a sheep's eye and a squid (that they later on grilled and feasted upon.)

Her uncle dissected a medium sized, pregnant shark.

Her aunt has dissected a squid, a frog, and a tapeworm.

What have you dissected?

Eyes

When I draw a picture, seriously or just for fun, it usually is a drawing of eyes. I don't know why that is, but no matter what the picture starts out as, it frequently ends up as a portion of a face. I think I like to draw eyes because they're different on each person. Also, there's always a way to improve the way I draw eyes – I can make the eyelids more realistic, shade better around them, or blend the shine more naturally. My biggest problem now is that when I draw two eyes on a face instead of just one alone, they always turn out too far apart. Eyes are without question my favorite thing to draw.
