Music Tuesday on Thursday

I was reminded by the lovely V that I forgot to post a music Tuesday yeseterday so here I am doing it on a Thursday.  So this next band I listened to as well while reading Beautiful Creatures.  I would have my shuffle going and this band was one of the bands that always popped up and I felt was a great sound track to the book.  INTERPOL

I can't really say anything to justify how amazing this band is.  If you ever get a chance to see them live you should definitely do it because they are one of those bands that mesmerize you while they are on stage.  The way the lead singer sounds on the album is the exact way he sounds live.

Some songs that kept popping up as I was reading BC was Slow Hands, Evil, Narc, No I in Threesome, The Heinrich Maneuver, PDA, C'mere and so many more that I won't have time to list.  But seriously if there was ever any band that I recommend that you should listen to this would be my biggest recommendation.  Interpol is an amazing band wth an amazing sound and amazing songs.  If you enjoy Joy Division you will definitely enjoy Interpol.

Check out their video for Evil (my personal favorite) HERE

Enjoy!

I completely forgot to post yesterday, so much was going on!  But since BC is coming up I decided to feature music that I was listening to while reading BC.  Usually when I read I have music going on in the background and when a song comes on that seems to connect with what I am reading I write it down on scraps of papers.  Arcade Fire was one of the bands that continually made an appearance during my reading of Beautiful Creatures.

There is something about this band that really spoke to me while reading BC. It seemed like every song fit perfectly with the parts I was reading.  Songs like Wake Up and Intervention and No Cars Go, they are just beautifully crafted songs from a very talented group of individuals.

I saw this band at Coachella 3 years ago, or maybe 2, and they were AMAZING!  Its not just a band with guitars, bass and drums but also violins, accordions, keyboards, violas, cellos etc.  All these different instruments give this band a more arena sound when you are seeing them live and can reach out to everyone no matter what your favorite genre of music is.

So if you have never heard of the Arcade Fire I suggest you download some of their songs off of iTunes because I guarantee you will love them.  Check out their video for Wake Up HERE.

Dreams

Killer-whale[1]

Lately I have been having reoccuring dreams with orca whales.  I'm a big believer in dreams having a deeper meaning than just the obvious.

Anyways I have been having dreams with orca whales and I looked up their meaning in a dream book and found out that if killer whales come up in your dreams that you are usually having a stressful time at work with a certain project.  And BINGO I actually am!!!!!!  I am working on a project that I am not qualified to do and am learning as I go along.  I am not the type of person who backs down from a challange so I took the project and now I am stressing big time thinking I am going to mess it all up.  So every week I usually have one dream about my orca whales and it is usually occurs when I have had a stressful day with the project or I am dreading a certain aspect of the project.

I always used to think whales in general were a peaceful image.  I once saw a humpback whale in the waters of Cabo when I was parasailing and it was amazing!  It filled me with a sense of wonder and how little my life seems compared to everything that is out there. But I guess in dreams whales can have a different meaning.

So what is your reoccuring dream?  What do you dream about and what do you think it means?  Maybe we can all decipher the meaning of dreams if you are unsure of what it could possibly mean.  Or maybe some of us have the same reocurring dream.  Tell me what you dream about!

Music Tuesday

So this past weekend I went to San Francisco's Outside Lands festival and it was amazing!  Way more mellow than Coachella and a different crowd and vibe.  Anyways as I was there I was exposed to this amazing artist named LENKA.

If you like the sounds of Regina Spektor and Ingrid Michaelson then you will definitely enjoy Lenka.  She is super mellow and her songs are simple and genius at the same time.

"We will not grow old" is one of those songs that is really catchy and so true to what we feel like at 15. It is about friendships and pacts you make with best friends to just be as you are forever, even if adulthood interrupts those plans you still remember the pact.

You can check out her video for one of her other songs,"the show", that is just as amazing HERE.

So if you are looking for an escape from whatever is going on my remedy would be Lenka.  Enjoy!
