Meridian[1]
So halloween is coming up and to get myself into the spirit of things I usually end up re-reading my Scary Stories to tell in the dark books but recently I read Meridian and I thought this would be a great creepy halloween book to pick up.

Here is the description from Amazon:

Half-human, half-angel, Meridian Sozu has a dark responsibility.

Sixteen-year-old Meridian has been surrounded by death ever since she can remember. As a child, insects, mice, and salamanders would burrow into her bedclothes and die. At her elementary school, she was blamed for a classmate’s tragic accident. And on her sixteenth birthday, a car crashes in front of her family home—and Meridian’s body explodes in pain.

Before she can fully recover, Meridian is told that she’s a danger to her family and hustled off to her great-aunt’s house in Revelation, Colorado. It’s there that she learns that she is a Fenestra—the half-angel, half-human link between the living and the dead. But Meridian and her sworn protector and love, Tens, face great danger from the Aternocti, a band of dark forces who capture vulnerable souls on the brink of death and cause chaos.

How creepy is that to have animals come to you and then just die!?  I don't know I found that terrifiying.  First of all the description sold me and then the cover was amazing so I had to pick it up.  Once I started reading it I could not put it down.  I finished it in a day and was completely creeped out.  There is a cute boy obviously which makes this book even better.  So my suggestion is to go pick Meridian by Amber Kizer its a fast read and will keep your attention the whole way.

P.S. There is one character in this book that really creeped me out.  Not because he looked like what your typical nightmare character would (mine would be a cross between Freddy Krueger and that Hellraiser guy) but because he looks normal on the outside but is completely evil and no one seems see it.  That truly terrifies me, evil that can be disguised into a nice looking person.

Fall/Winter

October 1, 2009     /     1 Comments

As most of you know I don't really like the Fall or Winter because it is just tooooo cold for me.  But a couple of things that keep me going are the releases of new books and new music.  So with that said here is what I am looking forward to in the coming months.

First:  Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick.  I have been dying to read this book because I have heard such great things about it.  Also look at that cover, I love it!

HushHush_JKT[1]

Second: The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting.  The mystery in this book has been hyped so much that I can't wait to get my hands on a copy of it!  I've also heard the romance is great so I have to pick it up since I am a sucker for a good love story.

Body-finder[1]

Third:  Fire by Kristin Cashore.  I actually read this book already but look at the cover of this book, I love it and I want my own copy.  Graceling was one of my favorite books last year, but Fire blew me away!  It was amazing and the action and love story in this book will keep you hooked.  I finished this book in a day.  So if you get a chance go pick up a copy next week, it comes out Oct 5th I believe.

So what are the books that you are looking forward to this fall/winter??  What can't you wait to read?
