Beautiful Chaos: A Review
There are no ARC’s for Chaos, we have come to terms with the fact, that we will be waiting until October to read what happens next. However, selected reviewers were sent Chaos, and Bibliopunkk was one of those reviewers.
Let’s revisit the synopsis of Chaos.
“Ethan Wate thought he was getting used to the strange, impossible events happening in Gatlin, his small Southern town. But now that Ethan and Lena have returned home, strange and impossible have taken on new meanings. Swarms of locusts, record-breaking heat, and devastating storms ravage Gatlin as Ethan and Lena struggle to understand the impact of Lena’s Claiming. Even Lena’s family of powerful Supernaturals is affected – and their abilities begin to dangerously misfire. As time passes, one question becomes clear: What – or who – will need to be sacrificed to save Gatlin?”
It leaves you wondering, what could happen? What is next? Are Ethan and Lena going to be together? Will they be happy? What else could happen?
Bibliopunkk review made us crave Chaos even more. It sounds like this book is amazing.
What Garcia and Stohl do in this book is nothing short of masterful. There’s always been a magic to their work (no pun intended).. a crispness and a quality that is barely rivaled in the Young Adult market. But, in this book, they have defeated their biggest rivals…themselves. It’s so hard as writers to keep readers’ attentions (and affections) running for several books in a series. Plots start to dwindle, character arcs become dull or tedious, and readers slip into ennui, become apathetic. Not so with this book. The main crux of this story will have readers gasping with anticipation until the final page.
I loved this. I devoured it. It’s the book in the series that is most centered on the relationships and how the relationships between the characters in the small town of Gatlin can be tested and tampered with and broken. It is the book that is most about the characters within and their interactions. It’s the book that most beautifully underscores what relationships mean between loved ones, and what some sacrifices are truly worth. I was crying at the end of this book… it’s pretty damned poignant.
We can’t wait for Beautiful Chaos, and this review only makes us want to read it more. It’s no surprise to us that this book is “masterful.” Garcia and Stohl consistently raise the bar as only they can do.
